The qualifying practice for the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans took place on Wednesday, June 12, with BMW Team MTEK emerging fastest in the Hypercar category. The BMW M Hybrid V8, driven by Nick Yelloly, Connor De Phillippi, and Augusto Farfus, set a blistering lap time of 3:26.486, securing pole position.

In the LMP2 class, Proton Competition led the way with its Proton Ford Mustang, piloted by Gianmaria Bruni, Lorenzo Colombo, and Francesco Castellacci. The Mustang clocked a lap time of 3:36.457, putting it ahead of the No. 22 United Autosports Oreca 07 by just 0.045 seconds.

24 Competitors Vie for Glory at the Classic Circuit

The main event, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will commence on Saturday, June 15, at 4:00 PM or 10:00 PM Philippine Time. A total of 62 cars will take to the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe, competing in three classes: Hypercar, LMP2, and LMGT3.

The Hypercar class features eight competitors, including the BMW M Hybrid V8, the Toyota GR010 Hybrid, and the Ferrari 499P. The LMP2 class boasts a strong field of 20 cars, while the LMGT3 class will feature 34 entries.
